Tantra has many definitions - "technique", "to weave", and "to be touched" are among them. Tantric Meditation, then, refers to "the techniques we weave together that allow us to be touched by something greater". The Tantric approach to meditation offers numerous tools and techniques to support seekers in their meditation journey. Specific breathwork, kriyas that involve visualization linked to the breath, dropping into various energy centers for different effects - these are all examples of Tantric meditation. The beauty of this course is that we will introduce a progression of meditations designed to support students' optimal growth in practice. Once we have outlined an overall progression, students can find the sweet spot for their own practice, as well as identify how to adjust their practice when they are ready to move on. Teachers will learn to assess where their students are within this progression and more skillfully design practices for them.

The ultimate goal of this course is to support a deepening of each student's meditation practice. Within each session, there will be a new concept presented, with opportunity for discussion. Students will learn new supporting pranayamas each class. An abbreviated asana practice will be used to prepare for the final meditation. Each meditation will address a new Tantric technique, and a recording will be made available to students.

This course is also intended to provide a roadmap for teaching meditation teach. For those interested in learning to guide students in meditation, and/or working towards certification, there will be offered a practicum section, dates TBD.
